The annual Conference of the Bulgarian Diocese of Toledo was held in June 2008 at St. Paul Cathedral in Dearborn Heights,
Michigan. Fr. Don Freude was the Clergy delegate, and Subdeacon Terrence Bilas was the lay delegate for St. Elia's.
Fr. Don also functions as the Diocesan Chancellor. Metropolitan Herman, Archbishop of New York and Washington,
Metropolitan of All America and Canada is the locum tenes of the Diocese.
Workshops for clergy and lay delegates
were held on Friday. Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday morning, with St. Elia's Deacon Joel assisting Fr.
James Jorgenson (St. Paul's). The Business meeting followed in the Hotel. Vespers were held on Saturday evening,
followed by a festive banquet. Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Sunday morning. The conference closed
with a brunch at St. Paul's following the Divine Liturgy.
